Cabeç de Velho
Pilosocereus ulei
In the CACSS Plant Show, April 20, 2012, Phoenix, Arizona
Cabeç de Velho (Pilosocereus ulei)
Is this blue one grafted onto the green one?
No, the top part is just new growth.
Just saw this again. Very cool!
Do you think this one of mine is really a Pilosocereus ulei?

Kind of looks like PalmBob's photos. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/157734/
Yes, I think your last three photos on that page are P. ulei
THANK YOU! And that is my cactus too! I walked into a Home Depot 2 years ago and at first did not see it with the other cactus even though it was front and center. At check out, I looked over once again and finally noticed it. I went running to grab it. I would have died if someone had gotten it after I had missed it. And it was so cheap!
Must be a rare find at HD. I've never seen one there.
Not have I since!!! I also went around to all the ones near me looking for more. On occasion they have the Pilocereus azureus available. No other blues have I seen and no hairy ones.
Then again I found those huge variegated agave attenuatas at a HD too. Such luck!
