Lily_love, what are the two clems' names? Is the purple a Jackmanii?
Inthegarden, I assumed the white one is 'Henrii' The purple one I'm not certain. My other Jackmanii aren't as large a bloom in the garden (like this one). Thanks both for the compliment.
Here is my Niobe; the weather has changed everything, last year. My B.o.W. and Niobe bloomed together. This year, the white double blooming Belle were all spent before Niobe ever got started.

Thanks Arlene; coming from you that means alot to me. Thank you. I just put in some new trellises and planted a few more in the front yard. I hope one can see from this pic.
I doubt I'd ever leave home if I were you. Between the water and the plants in bloom I'd be in heaven.
We share a passion for trellises! I just put up three to hide the AC unit outside and now have to consider planting around them but not interfering with the operation of the AC.

Lovely, urbanveggies! That color is so nice and a group of three makes it even better.
Plenty more blooms this weekend. For some reason I lost the longer part of my vine but the bottom bushy part is doing fine with about 10 blooms. How long do the blooms last? Does it bloom throughout the spring/summer or does it go into a growth period after the first blooms die?

Each bloom lasts a few days - maybe five or six. Strong sun can change that number!
Any additional blossoms seem to arrive as the plant pleases - no strict schedule. I'll try and take notes for you this year.
Here are some of mine from this year ...I love them all...hooked for sure.

Carolyn - I meant the photo with Huldine and others. Just to the right of center, at the bottom of the photo, there appears to be a lily and I was curious if it matched one or more of the clem's.

Looking for a decent picture - I found that I was hard pressed to find one, so I really need to do a better job with pictures this year.
That lily is Conca D'Or. On the other side of the Comtesse is Phlox David. I like to have my clematis in my mixed border.
Conca is so fragrant.
I'm also a Conca lover. The fragrance is divine and the flower is huge.
Conca is a wonderful flower. I love the height. It is one of those glorious flowers that just draws attention.
I am sitting here, watching my Mme Julia fade. Typically she starts for me much later than she did this year. I am going to cut her back today and hope she is in full bloom in September when my brother and is family are here from Boston. I will keep you all posted.
Hi Carolyn, I also cut back my c. Julia Correvon today also! The first flush of flowers were smaller than previous years flowers but, the plant was fine and the color was great(as usual) I fertilized her and c. Alhena each with a shovel full of dried sheep Frisbees, Alfalfa pellet tea...phweeee! and some Kelp I am trying this year. Last year I cut Julia back too far and she just sat till winter and as I say she has small flowers so, I made note not to cut the pruning group 3 clematis back any more than total dead head and reduce no more than 1/3rd.I also have another Julia C out in my evergreen garden and it ambles over a Staked up weeping Juniper. It never riots I think that's because the Evergreens are not heavily fed but it looks just fine. Lee

can't remember where I saw it, but you were asking about the size of Rugoochi - the flowers are about 2" long, maybe a tad less. The thing I really like about Rugoochi is that she blooms all summer.
