Thanks All! I am enjoying seeing all these new iris this year, it's a fun surprise each morning as I stroll the garden to see what opened each day.

Did you buy it locally or online?

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

All online pirl. I did an order through Blue Jay Iris, one from Sutton's, one from Schreiners, one from International Iris and then a couple of co-ops and then a friend gave me several of hers when she divided them.

Thanks, Sue. Somehow, seeeing that iris makes so many others so boring.

I love the dark, rich, exotic looking blooms, ones with multiple colors. No ho hum solid color boring blooms for me!
These are a few that just started blooming for the first time this past week:

They're all so pretty, Sue, and yet no match for Strozzapreti (in my mind). The photo with "genetic" on it - did you hybridize that one? Love all the colors in it.

No, that's the name of the iris, you can click on the PF entry names for all those. Here is this one http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/102989/
It's an Arilbred Iris.

...and here I was thinking the genetic artist was Sue!

LOL, I label all my photos with the plant name, either Latin names or cultivar names and then my name and year, guess that can look confusing depending on the plant name!

You're right!

I loved 'Strozzapreti' so much that I sent a link to Louise (venu209) and now we both want it so I'll be on the hunt.
