Spathodea propagation

Lakeland, FL(Zone 10a)

Has anyone ever tried to root a Spathodea from cuttings? I have a large tree I want to cut back and wonder if it is possible to root the cuttings.

Thanks for any info-

Cultivars of the tree must be propagated asexually. It can be started from stem cuttings, air layers, and root cuttings or suckers.

I know what a problem these are in Hawaii( I lived there in the 80s and 90s), but not here.

Thanks for the info-

You're very welcome!

Wild plants produce winged seeds the fly with the wind for long distances. They are invasive when they establish in native forests.

Cultivars don't go wild, but they might produce seed that reverts back to the type species.
