Freesias and other spring blooms

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

A great year for freesias! This is one of my favorite scented plants. Not too florally - but a nice sweet fragrance.

Beautiful! I love freesia too! I love the fragrance. But mine are not sweet, they smell kind of spice. My daughter thinks it smells like pepper.

your freesias are convincing me to plant some!

Thanks, all. Coastal - they are great plants, and carefree, and multiplies freely.

Callas are currently blooming - green goddess, and generic white ones.

Dutch irises are also in bloom. Some of my yellow ones did not come back this year.

I like bringing flowers to work - this week's pairing is the white calla lilies with the purple-blue Dutch Irises.

your flowers are all very nice and have such vivid color, are those peonies nest to the ranunculus? can't wait for those either.

Beautiful, just beautiful.

Thanks, Coastal and Rita.

Yes, those are herbaceous peonies behind the ranunculus. Those were sent to me from a friend in Minnesota who was redoing his yard and had to move a bunch of his peonies. I was the happy recipient of a box of tubers. My tree peonies are in bloom now, and the herbaceous ones will follow in about two weeks.

Rita - I love your beds of tulips and daffodils. Unfortunately, I don't have the room for that amount of bulbs. I have to prioritize my space allocations so a large percentage goes to my peonies (I have over 60 at last count), and now I am starting to collect more and more dahlias.......

More spring blooming bulbs - Bletilla striata - I started out with one or two bulbs of both the white and the purple and they have spread like crazy over the years.

Closeup of the purple, and the white one is to the bottom right of the tree peony.
