I couldnt resist these planter feet.
I like the rail planter idea too.
Is anyone adding garden accessories this season?
Oooh, how cute! Love the kitty.....yeah, I'd love some stones or slates to walk through the new DL garden....will be looking in Ward's in Great Barrington, MA.
Those are so cute, Jo! I have a couple little critters that sit on the rim of a flower pot that I'll set around. Not sure what else will appear, but I want to bring an owl stone sculpture that Hank gave me for Christmas if it can fit in the car. It would make the rounds of garden spots.
Marilyn, that sounds like a fun project. I loved walking through my renovated daylily garden once I added some paths. I'll bet you'll find some stones or slate pieces. Be sure to show us what you pick out.
I love owles.
I will suggest using water gels in your rail planter.. they can dry out quick
Thanks Allison I never thought about that. Its plastic and I use Moisture controle potting mix.Do you think thats enough ?or should I add the gel?
not a deep pot to deal with.. couldn't hurt to add more if you have any.. but will be better with the moisture control
Thanks.
Can't wait to see your owl, Louise....I love them, too!
He's very heavy, Marilyn. I hope we can bring him back. There's a funny (embarrassing, really) story that caused Hank to give me "Who Knew", the owl's official name. One morning while Hank was golfing, I took the dogs out into their puppy yard really early because nature called Bailey and I was in my PJs. I hadn't had time to put in my contacs yet, and while I was out there, I saw this huge owl sitting on our neighbors' fence behind us. I ran in and threw on some clothes and grabbed my camera and ran back out and he was still in the same spot. I decided to sneak up on him by tiptoeing around the other side of our shed to get a closer photo. As I put the camera up to click the picture, I realized that it had a hanging hook on it! It was one of those big "scarecrow" owls. I told Hank about my idiocy, and he said it had been there all winter. :D). Oh dear! .....hence the name, Who Knew? TeeHee
Just took an old cast iron tub and pump from my parent's old house. My dad made it into a planter years ago. My sister is going to sell the house and I couldn't bear to leave it. It will go in my yard as a planter too!
Louise, that's too funny! Ronnie, so glad you're rescuing it.......
Ronnie, you can also add a half cover of plywood and use it to pot up plants or wash veggies if you connect a garden hose to it. The drain works well if you place it over a dry well of stones. Hank dug me a hole and filled it with stones and set the sink I use where the drain goes down into the drywell.
I like that idea Louise!
She's a pretty one!
agreed!!
Beautiful and graceful, Jen.
☺
lovely
Pretty Jen!
Bought her at my fav garden/decor center here in town
Thats a great owl.
Isn't he cool, Jo? I just love him.
very cute owl
The owl might be a "her"
That is true....hmmmmm, you'd think I'd know better.. Who Knew? LOL
They all would look perfect in my gardens!
nice owl louise - was tempted to get one just like for my MIL who collects them and was talked out it by her daughter :) there are three or four different sizes of them
I think you need one lurking around your gardens, Bill. :)
an owl should be up in a tree - will need to wait until some of these maples get a lot bigger :)
Borrowing Owles can sit on the ground.
Ward's had no stepping stones :>(..guess I'll try Blue Seal next....
Sounds perfect for her....too hot today to go shopping for stones for the garden....maybe later this week....
I need to run to Lowe's to get seed starting soil, more fungicide, and a new trowel
