Is everyone okay after North Texas storms?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Thinking of all of you in North Texas and praying that everyone is okay. Please post when you can to let us know you are safe.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Everything is OK here. Just a lot of rain and some dime sized hail.

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Nothing but wicked humidity here in Canton. Not sure what is going on up near Alba where my house is.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We got heavy rain but no hail here at our house in Arlington, thank the Lord!

Been glued to the TV! It's ugly out there. Hope everyone is safe :0)

Terri, be careful with what time you leave work, there is a very strong line coming from the west. It's running from the south to the north. Looks like it would be miserable and down right dangerous to drive in!

Alba is safe, tornados to the north of Emory so far. On the ground in Greenville and Sulphur Springs area.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We are fine here. We only got very heavy rains, no hail or anything. Lots of tornadoes in the area, though. Eek!

Has anyone heard from Tina_A? She lives in Royce City (I think) and they had a tornado there.

So glad to hear from those of you who have posted that you are safe. I hope we hear from others soon!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Just rain here thankfully! I can't believe the video of the trailers being tossed.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Everything's good here. We thought we were going to get hit hard and had to evacuate, but it went to Forney instead. :( I haven't heard from Tina, but I think she moved away from Royse City and went to Caddo Mills. Not sure that's any better.

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi everyone,
we are safe. We moved to Caddo Mills last year which is right next to Greenville. We had lots of rain, with some hail but the tornadoes missed us. I will be looking around the house today to make sure that everything survived. Thanks Tina

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

We are fine here in Johnson County between Keene and Joshua, not really very far from where the storm system first touched ground, if I understand what they've said on TV. We were on the calm side of the storm, I guess. Could hear the Keene warning sirens and it was eerily calm outside. No high wind. Much later a short period of small hail and hard rain. Makes me very thankful when I see the devastation on TV.

We ended up getting home just in time. I had stopped off at the Grand Saline Brookshire's and the skies were black. But the rains and hail held off until we got home and in the door. I managed to get the hanging baskets down and under cover just as the straight line winds hit. Only one tree blew over. So all in all we were lucky.

I'm very happy to hear from all of you and grateful that you are safe!

We are truly blessed !

One if those nasty tornadoes touched down 1 1/2 miles from our house but we only hot tons
of rain ans strong winds.

When I got home we had no electric and it just now came
back on !

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad everyone is safe and sound!!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Only heavy rain in Rowlett (1-3/4") thank goodness.

The tornado that hit Lancaster was coming directly our direction when it jumped 35E and went a little east and north. Came within about a mile and a half. The truck lot where they trailers were being tossed high in the air is 3-4 miles from us. As someone else commented it was eerily still and quiet. We have lived here for 45 years and have lived through 3 previous tornadoes. Much worse on the ground than seeing the pictures. The one in May 1994 hit 700 homes in DeSoto and almost wiped Lancaster off of the map. The inner part of the old town never did rebuild. New subdivisions sprung up on the perimeters. It is really sad. One of things that we seldom realize is our dependence on old growth trees. Homes can be rebuilt and thank goodness there were only a few minor injuries. After all this time my neighborhood is just now having big trees once again.

Glad you guys are still here! Been watching while duckin hail an hard rains from Chicago to Memphis- Little Rock- love those classes I took in 1986 down in Waco on weather spotters, but it's hard to dodge something you can't see at 4am, so watching my iPhone weather ap whenever possible too, stay safe, you guys are in my worries.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I am very glad the tornadoes missed you Christi, praise the Lord.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

Got our little weekly local newspaper yesterday and was surprised to see a frontpage photo taken from my neighbor's back porch of the tornado that touched down a couple miles away, which from the news seems to be where the horrible tornados first started on the road to destruction through DFW metroplex. I was looking out my back door during the storm and never saw it. Kind of took my breath away to see the photo now. I guess I couldn't see it because of the trees behind our house. Next time those sirens go off, I will get in my safe place. At the time, I didn't think there was anything really serious close to us.

The latest news I have heard is that they have now determined 14 funnels touched down. Much like the storms that hit Kansas and Missouri several weeks ago. Nature is on a rampage.

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

Stay tuned ... more coming soon !

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Latest is confirmation 16 tornadoes in less than an hours time.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I heard 17 confirmed last night on TV. WOW!
