Lovely photo, can almost smell them!
Thanks, I too loved them. In the excitement of taking a photo and instructing my DW not to pluck them for worship, I forgot to smell them! But I took revenge by smelling the flowers this morning! These blooms live just for a day.
Absolutely stunning!
Belated birthday greetings to you kniphofia.
Here is another shot I took a day after that one. Tried it with my DD's Canon.
The plant survived the onslaught of neglect and then piling up of various materials on and around it for some weeks during the new house construction [still going and to be over soon]. In this picture, 90% have been cleared and I have some plans for a reshape of the yard you see there, up to the shed seen in the b/g.
Thanks Dinu!
Just shows you how tough plants can be. Good luck with the house construction! Hope you're keeping in touch with the cricket :)
Yes, kniphofia.. am in touch with cricket, but no cricket for me since November last - no matches scheduled. New season would begin in two months time. House construction - thanks. Am keeping a brief update in my 'blog' here. Do have a dekko if you find time. I had to remove 2 other Jasmines where another shed would come up. Have replanted them in 'cement bags' temporarily. I don't know if there will be space left for these two, which have never flowered in profusion.
