I had Painted Lady beans a few years ago and would love to have some this year. They are much like scarlet runner or hyacinth beans but red & white flowers.

Wanted: Painted Lady beans
Wow! I've never heard of them! Thanks for the education! They sound lovely! I'm going to have to check into them.
I've got lots of Scarlet Runner aka "Magic Beans", haven't tried the Painted Lady yet, but sounds good if we can find the seeds.
Al
Very pretty, hummingbirds probably like them.

Those are cute! Do they grow as fast as the hyacinth beans? Have they ever re-seeded for you?
Yes, they grow exactly the same
I've never seen those before. They are cute :) I hope someone on here can share a few of them with you.

Hi Kathy and anyone else
I should warn you that I am SLOOOWWW (like months behind), but I think we still have some Painted Lady from sunnyg's garden, in the New Bee stash. If you don't need them just for this spring, U can add your name to the list.
If you would send any seeds back to the New Bee stash after you recive the Painted Lady, that would be a good trade. We can use vegetables and flowers, but if that's too restrictive, we have categories for vines, trees, shrubs and herbs! A few years old is OK too.
Runner Bean 'Painted Lady'
Phaseolus coccineus
6'-10' tall - needs support - edible ornamental
full sun (part shade)
[A or TP Zone 9b] - - may come back from a tuber
OP - Direct Sow 1" deep after last frost - 18-24" spacing
red and white bi-color blooms
68 days
from sunnyg's garden

I would love as many painted lady beans as you could spare. I have lots of hyacinth beans to send you back. I also have others. I'm in the address exchange so please let me know if you will send them and I would like to have them by the 3rd week in April if possible. May 1 would be the latests.

That sounds like you would need them sent in the next week or three. So don't count on me!
But I'm adding a note and your address to my list and will check to see what's left.
>> hyacinth beans
Hunnh! I always thought hyacinths came from bulbs. Maybe just a similar common name? Plant Files mentions an annual vine, Hyacinth Bean = Lablab purpureus
Rick,
I was just thinking I would like to have them by then since our last frost date is May 10 (that is if we can count on the weather this year). Please do keep me in mind.
The Hyacinth Bean vine has beautiful soft purple flowers that turn into shiny purple beans! Nice plant and will produce lots of beans for you next year.
I have some castor beans as well if you are interested. I really would like some Painted Lady beans.
Kathy
I'll try, Kathy.
