Found growing in colonies in dappled sunlight by lagoon-very wet! Lower Montane Rain Forest (825-1100 meters elev.), in Chiapas, MX. It is said to have small, yellow flowers, but was not in bloom when photo was taken, unfortunately. Note the light brown bumps on the stalks. I think it could be Telanthophora grandifolia, syn., Senecio grandifolius, but the leaves on my plant are more deeply lobed. They are lobed on young plants also. Any guesses what it could be?
waist-high plant in rain forest - Asteraceae perhaps?
Need to see flowers.
Yes, that would be better. This is an usual plant, though. The leaves are not like any others I've seen in the forest.
my guess would be a pentagonia. hawaiian tropical plant nursery in hawaii has a picture of a pentagonia. google hawaiian tropical plant nursery.
