2012 Central TX RU in Hempstead April 14th Sign Up

It's official! We will be hosting a roundup at the farm for Austin, College Station/Bryan, Houston, Baytown, Iola and points beyond. This will be the first of many and I certainly hope everyone will try and come.

We will start simple, potluck lunch and trade tables, fishing for those who wish, baby animals to feed, horses to pet, and a chance to enjoy a day in the country.

Date--- April 14th, 2012 Saturday
Place-- Hempstead, TX. (South of College Station and west of Houston)

I will email attendees my address and directions as we get closer to our date.

Time--- 11 till ???
Eat at 12:30 or 1 (Electricity is available, but not for cooking only warming)

A plant trade thread and a food thread will be started at a later date. As they are posted I will put a link here.


There will be no cost, and I will furnish coffee, tea, cups, plates, napkins and plastic ware. I have plenty of tables but not chairs. You might want a wagon to haul your stash. LOL

Plenty of space for parking is available, you can pull up close to unload and then find shade to park under.

I am glad you ladies are getting a swap together, it is a lot of fun.

I'm coming! I'll have a few things to give away/trade. If it's too much trouble to list everything, we can just have a "potluck" plant swap! My hubby will probably come too.

Smockette and I are planning to come. I start Payroll Specialist school March 20 and really depends how it is going for me. Would love to see you all :)

Im planning to come with one of my neighbors. I dont know how much I'll have to trade. Ive already made a good many committments to the Arlington RU. I'll bring a few things and definitely a pot luck item. Look on the Burleson trade page to see if I have something you might like to have and let me know to bring it. Marty

Ok, I'll be there with a companion. I will have some brugmansia cuttings for sure.

How about we do as bariolio suggested and have a potluck swap for plants? If you want, we can have a trade list, I am easy.

I don't have any plants to trade. Just getting started on outfitting my yard with anything other than buckets of veggies!

However, I do plan on cleaning out the garage where there are many items a gardener might like to have in an old-fashioned swap meet!

Oh. And, did I mention 5 little girls? Not for swapping!

If Gymgirl is going, then I'll be there! I haven't been to a swap in a couple of years. This one will be close enough to do in a day. I'll have a few things to give away. Not sure what yet. I'll bring a pot luck dish and... my DH. Let me know what is needed. I look forward to meeting the RR member too!

That pink lady (pig right?) is on the 290 close to hwy 6. It does look like a cool place to visit, as long as I leave the checkbook and CCs at home. I imagine I could find a ton of stuff to buy there (if I wanted a divorce). ^_^

Glad you are coming Carey, and everyone else as well. Had a lovely set of triplets on Thursday, all three are doing well and love being bottle fed for those wanting that experience. Can't believe that I might have to get the lawnmower serviced, we actually have green on the ground instead of the dirt we have had the last two years.
