I haven't been on DG for a loooooong time, but was taking pics today and thought I'd share this one of a brug I started from a seed Kell sent me. As you can see it is taking over my living room. BTW, my ceilings are 12' tall!
It hasn't bloomed yet as it is under a year old and the first flush of buds dried and fell off about a month ago :( I think it was because we had really cold temps (even inside at night) for a week.
Hoping it will send out another flush soon, can't wait to see what color it is!

Is Kell still around?
Melissa, Kell is still around although she doesn't post often.
What is the plant low in the pot?
BirdieBlue,
Those are two Kangaroo Paw Ferns http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/106932/ I set them there because I didn't have any liners for my hanging planters, planning to buy some and hang them, but they look so nice at the base of the Brug I left them there.
So far they seem happy :)
lovely leaves. very cool plant. never heard of it before.
You can see an almost still white one just in front of an older pinker one on the far right of the picture. So far the pink doesn't seem to go all the way up, there is almost a tiny band of white right where the flower attaches to the plant.
One of the parents was a double, and I was hoping for a double baby, but the color is so lovely I can't complain :)
Thanks Chrissy,
I never thought about the 6 tips... My other one has 5?!
How many are "normal"? Are there 7s... 8s?
Melissa
So Chrissy, basking in the glory of finding out my plants 6 tipped flowers were special I went and took a good look at all 7 that are fully open. Only the one has 6, the others have 5!? I had taken a closeup of that particular flower because it was the easiest to reach. LOL
Maybe more of the ones that aren't open yet will have 6...
