the black barrel is usually in the greenhouse as a heat-sink filled with water

fuchsia in hanging baskets

purslane ready to be put in hanging baskets

peas "melting snow" almost ready for transplanting

this is a new strain of jumbo moss rose that i'm trying "new to me" i mean

my cucumber are popping up

this is my new toy to play with, fixing it today so i can start up a 20x60 foot greenhouse. hope to have it up and running by the end of the week

well i'll get back on tonight got to go out and get to work talk to you guys later

Is that Golden Purslane, or the more common rock rose?

not sure i have always called it portulaca but some one corrected me and said it was purslane. it has leaf shape not spike shaped.

I have regular, edible purslane in my garden. The leaves are not spiked shape either. I think the golden purslane is simply taller and larger, with more yellowed leaves. Supposed to be tastier, too.

thanks guys and it is a lot of work,lol imagesoart i was lucky and got these from a friend that ordered to many plugs but you can grow them from seed just have to keep and eye on them and keep them moist and warm.
i still have to tighten the plastic on the big greenhouse because we put it on in front of a storm and it was blowing about 20 miles an hour with gusts up to 40 wasn't the best time to do it but had to be done.
me and my middle son are going to work on a hydroponic lettuce system this weekend if time permits so i will take some pics and make a tutorial.

I am looking forward to your tutorial. This weather is not helping me get things done outside, but it doesn't seem to be slowing you down any. Your pics are awesome!

ok a little late but here is the hydroponic system so far
first take a 4" pipe

oh you will need 3 pipes cut two in half

cut one in to 4 pieces "cut in half then in half again"

now drill holes every 6 " if you are planting leaf lettuce or cut the holes for the spacing of what you are planting

now cut a board about 24 inches long and space the curved cuts evenly apart

now put legs on the curved cut piece as tall a you would like it

now make supports for the legged pieces
this is a temp frame work for me if this works like i hope i will make better frames

one of the four small pieces goes in side the half pipe

here is the system being tested i will try and take some pics of the plumbing in the next few day
