Another Question...

Arlington, TX

I have two moss verbena and have had them for a few years. I have rarely found any seedlings. Last year I started a few prairie verbena from seed and now the bed they are in is covered with seedlings. I am pretty sure the seedlings are prairie verbena but not completely sure. Does anyone grow these and know how prolificly they reseed?

Prairie verbena like crazy here. No experience with moss verbena.

That's good to hear because I would rather have the prairie verbena...a native. I have many hundred tiny to med. sized seedlings.

does prairie verbena bloom all season like moss verbena?

Arlington, TX

Yes it does. My plants were small but very pretty last year. I am still not 100% convinced of the ID of all the many seedlings but I think they are prairie verbena.

Thank you. I will put these on my list of seeds

It's funny. I only got a couple of plants from the winter seeding (in a milk jug) but those plants produced hundreds of babies for this spring.
