Hi,
I was wondering of a good source for 6ft pine stakes, cut on one end for staking tomatoes. I normally make my own but need a few thousand. I have searched all over the net for them and have come up with very little. I am located between Athens and Atlanta in Loganville GA. It looks like they can be bought for as little as .10 each in bulk from my research, but I cant find a place.
Hope you can help,
Mark
Where to buy, Bulk Pine Tomato Stakes in Georgia
I bought 1 x 6 x 10ft treated wood for $4.38 each, tax included. Cut them to 5 ft length, then ripped into 6 strips each for a total of 12. So that's 36½¢ each. We lost 3 from breaking off, so can reuse them this year.
10¢ sounds awful cheap unless it's stuff that will only last 1 year.

Hi,
Yeah I have made them myself with a few 100 plants before, but not for 1000's. I am just looking for stuff that will last one year.
Thanks,
Mark Capps
Mark, check with local tobacco growers. They normally have thousands of "drying sticks" for their tobacco hanging and many of them either cut their own or know of local folks who cut them. I used to get 6 ft ones exceptionally cheap by the truckload.
