Groundcovers that can handle some foot traffic?(Dallas area)

Plano, TX

I need to cover a sunny, flat area this spring with a hardy groundcover that is rather low (6" or so). I would like something that would be pretty most of the year instead of just a few months, something that would spread but not become too invasive. Any suggestions?

Frogfruit, Phyla nodiflora would be good fro sun or shade

I've heard creeping thyme is good for sun. Don't know if that means Texas sun though.

I second Josephine's "Frogfruit" suggestion. It's hardy, drought tolerant, pretty, and a butterfly host plant.

I LOVE frogfruit, BUT it can become invasive. It's fairly easy to pull up, tho. It also roots easily.
