Can anyone tell me if Costus gingers that are rooted cuttings will produce rhizomes?
Thanks!

Costus Gingers - Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings cuttings are not the same thing as woody cuttings. With the latter the tip keeps growing and the lower portion sprouts roots. With costus the stem cutting itself does not sprout roots. An axillary bud sprouts and that new plantlet forms it's own roots. A rhizome starts forming immediately ...it's just small at first.

Thanks! I guess I'll keep my babies in pots for awhile until they grow substantial rhizomes before I stick them in the ground.
