Great pic, Kell. I've read that fruit is edible but since mine never makes a full cycle in my z9a, I've never seen any--if I had the never to try it.

This tree was about 3 feet and still put all this fruit out, Nery. Too bad yours is a dud. I love the variegated one so much! The fruit is even variegated.

you mean a var. roxburgh? where? where? I want!

It is kinda like my edible bananas, just when I get a fruit raceme, temps start dropping. I figure the same happens w/ the figs.

I remember that pic! You know we've been friends a long time when conversations go a 2nd round.

When you first posted the pic of the var. Clown fig, I went mad w/ desire and looked for it all over the place. The best I could do was find ficus Panache (Panachee?) which has variegated fruit but no var. leaves. I made myself happy with it. It is growing well in my garden.

Here's to long term friends and to plant lust.

To us Nery! And we both sure still have plant lust! LOL One of the things I think about is that when I die I will miss all the brand new cultivar that come out every year. Makes me so sad.

Love the bold leaves of your Ficus carica Panachee! The fruit is so cool! But variegated leaves are a big selling point for me. I have never seen Ficus aspera for sale either now that you mention it. I think it may want zone 10.
