Happy Birthday Charlie!!
Hope you have a great day!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINTHICUM !!!!
Thank you all for the birthday messages. I almost forgot to check in today. When you get my age, EVERY day is a Happy Birthday. I realize I have been absent but hopefully I'll be back soon. I think I have been out one time in the last two months when I went to Blackwater NWR. And, that trip was rather disappointing. I hardly see any birds around my feeder except Junco's and Mourning Doves. Where have they all gone ? Things should soon start to pick up.
Well, let me tell you what my dear wife is getting me for my birthday. The only problem is the "wait". She is giving me the just announced Nikon D800e with 36.3 megapixels. I plan to pre-order it tomorrow. Heaven knows when I might get it.
Anyway, we went out to dinner tonight - "Steak and Cake" night. The cake is a crab cake ! She treated me to dinner, also. I must be doing something right !
Thanks, again .......
Now, your DW knows how to treat a man with lot of loving and care. Congrats. You surely have done something right!!! Welcome back Charlie.
Wow Congratulations Charlie!
Happy B.Day!!
36 MP? That's a lot of dots. Very happy for you.
Thank you all again for the birthday wishes.
Dave, I very excitedly pre-ordered the Nikon D800e ...... versus the Nikon D800. Other than $300 difference in price, the only difference is that the 800e does not have an anti-aliasing filter which on one hand should make the images sharper but on the other hand you are exposed to moire' on some of your photos. This is causing an awful lot of debate and confusion with people who wish to buy one or the other. I pre-ordered from B&H photo but some people that ordered from Amazon received a message that expected delivery was January, 2013. I'm not absolutely sure what I should have done. I almost want to cancel the D800e and re-order the D800 but B&H has a 30 day return policy so I can try it (the D800e) and see if I'm satisfied. Obviously 36 MP creates some other issues, i.e. card size, downloading speed, computer storage, etc. A lot of people are saying that no one needs 36 MP.
Oh well ! I'm game to trying a new experience. Nothing ventured, nothing gained !
If things like size, download speed and storage are a problem I would expect you can set the camera to take smaller size images (at least in jpeg) for every day use and go up toward 36MP when need be. Anyway, I am happy for you. It's gonna be like waiting for Christmas.
