Big bird (on the order of eagle-sized, based on a quick look as he passed overhead), seen last Wednesday late afternoon soaring over the Los Padres National Forest near the coast south of Big Sur in central California. So big my wife thought it could have been a condor, though I do not now think so. Still not sure what it was. Anyone know?
CLOSED: BIG raptor
Red-tailed Hawk . . . size can be very hard to judge!

Thank you, Resin. Upon further review, I have to agree. Really thought it was larger than ~50 inch wingspread, but as you say, size can be hard to judge. Beautiful bird in any case. Thanks again.
