Hello all! It has been a twining vine of fun for me while in and around DG during the last year. Though it is time for me to say farewell for a most of 2012 only to return sometime in early 2013 if permitted. My subscription is now good until March but in 3 weeks or 2.10.12 I will no longer be in Texas or the US and will not be around a computer for most of the time away.
I am heading to Africa or Uganda to be specific for 9 months to farm and join in a joint Ag/teaching program for locals in and around Gulu, Uganda. I am branching one of my current businesses with another business I co own that is currently based in Kampala and futures to be in Gulu and elsewhere.
This is my last post for 2012 as well as a bye to everyone that I have met and talked to. I shall return in about 1 year and join back in the shows and swaps.
Farewell
Michael
Saying farewell
May God bless your undertaking. Will pray for you and your endeavors.
Interesting opportunity you have before you Michael. Travel safely and learn and teach. See you when you return to the states. Prayers for safety.
Good luck.
I am sad to hear you are leaving, but I hope all will be well with you, that you will do some good there and that your life will be enriched by the experience.
We are sponsoring a boy from Uganda through CFCA, what a coincidence that you should be going to that country.
Please be sure to get in touch again when you get back.
Josephine.
What a wonderful adventure! Have a blast and stay safe! I can't wait to hear the stories when you get back.
Good luck with this opportunity. If you do have occasional access to the internet, maybe you can start a blog describing your observations.
Well, I am back many months earlier than first expected or planned but mission in Uganda was completed as scheduled. I am back and diving right back into the dirt, cactus, carnivorous world, tanks, and soon Hawaii for my 5th anniversary!
Look forward to many more RU's in NCTX as well as ETX.
welcome back michael! I am new here but look forward to getting to know you and hearing about your adventures!
Great! Nice to have the chance to get acquainted with you through gardening lizzieshome52.
Welcome back, Michael!! I hope your trip to Uganda was a wonderful one! I will look forward to hearing stories at the next RU!
Was it part of the "Kony 2012", Invisible Children campaign? I have seen the video and it is awful.
No. I know a family in the Gulu and Amuru district areas and simply went there to assist in planting seed and teach how to farm.
Welcome back! Just in time to get those peppers in the ground!
Michael, that's awesome! I have a friend who's an agricultural missionary in Asia.
Great to hear that there are others who's calling is centered around farming and planting. My main mission is to plant seeds in people as well as the ground for whoever I may meet in this life. Uganda, Africa was the first but surely not the last as more and more people meet me and know my purpose.
That's so awesome, Michael! My friend has a BS in some kind of agriculture from Texas A&M and I met him when we were in Seminary together. After we graduated, he stayed at his youth ministry position in Lewisville for a few years, then went to the mission field.
