Clematis

Here's Jackmanii growing on the 9'9" copper trellis, made by my husband, before a storm took off the top of the trellis. This is the rear view of it. The front is also beautiful!

So many blooms, just wonderful!

Tons of blooms from that one, Kell.

If anyone doubts the value of compost just look at these two clematises, planted the same day in '92 but in different areas. The Jackmanii backs up to the compost bin while the Niobe doesn't.

Well lady, get out there with a shovel ASAP!

Funny! Actually I removed all the many lilies from in front of the Jackmanii and planted more clematises there so we'll see if they react the same way to the compost though they are 3' away from the compost bin backing up to Jackmanii.

The new addition in front is Guernsey Cream and I paired it with the common Belle of Woking on the left and Proteus on the right. Looks like a graveyard now but I'm hoping for a good show by 2013.

No matter how much compost I add to Niobe it's just not the same as the constant food the Jackmanii gets from its location.
