The "blooms" on the stalk are actually new bromeliads, right?

Hmm, that I have never seen before, but they do look like new pups.
I actually left out an "e." It should be gurkenii.
I found that the new pups will grow just below the inflorescences before the mother plant dies.
Yes they are new bromeliad plants. This plant will also pup at the base.
