DW has been after me to start a list right now of what to plant for the coming year and what to leave off ..the way I see it she is encouraging me to be more selective so as to not create so much work growing things that are not readily adaptive in case we have another scorcher of a summer...so far about the only thing i know for certain are the coneflowers and day lillies ..In the veggy dept. it will be sure to include the Trombone zuchinni as well as the Early Girls and will have to put in some cukes for her ..If I did not plant any cukes she would likely take a flame thrower to the rest of the garden LOL

What type of cucumbers do you plant for your wife? The dangerous thing about starting lists is... our gardening eyes are larger than our gardening spot is. Easier to add than subtract for me... lol Good luck!
I've been hatching my plans also. Mostly for edibles and am going for smaller plants and hopefully even more productive. I also hope to remove and relocate a bed totally. Also planting some more fruit trees.
I always plant a burpless hybrid the exact variety I do not know as I get them at a local greenhouse and the owner assures me that he grows the same variety year afte year and they are very good ..Likely he doesn't divulge the exact cultivar for fear of losing bussiness ..That does not bother me one bit as I try to support the local economy as much as I can ..I also shop at another green house that is a ways off but it is close to Walmart..The greenhouse here is 3 blocks from my house..Biggest advantage to getting plants that close I am sure that the water he is using is the same as what I will start them with...
