Feels like Spring

Arlington, TX

It's been such a mild winter and this is the first weekend I have been out cleaning my yard/garden. I finally faced the mess and it was so enjoyable. Still have lots to clean, repair and start but it certainly feels as if spring will come sooner than I imagined. I did find time to shop. Bought 3 of these crazy things at a pawn shop in Mineral Wells. I love them, dirt and all.

He is cute too but I do wish they had left him rusty and not painted him.

If history repeats itself, you should brace for some mid-teens or lower in January and February. I would love a year with just low 20's. We are still getting lots of chill hours for our fruit trees as they need accumulated temps between 32-45F.

Well of course you are right but I can dream...
Still, I have appreciated the winter so far and am hoping I won't have to bring in a single pot due to cold!

I have planted so many citrus and other sub-tropicals it would be nice to go a year without having to protect them. I can get down to about 22F before I start to panic and break out the 100W bulbs and blankets.
