Looking for Texas Forum Birthday Greeters.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I started doing Birthday Greetings in 2006 and have been taking turns with Sheila for the last three years because my volunteering schedule kept me from doing the greetings in the morning as I had to rush out of the house very early.
Sheila did Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and I did the rest.

However Sheila and I would like to retire and we are wondering if someone on the Texas forum would like to take it up starting with the New Year, We hope someone will do it.

Please let us know, we look forward to hearing from you.

Your friends
Sheila and Josephine.

Bumping this up, just in case.

Well I do have a suggestion, why not just post once a month with a list of all members whose BDay falls in that month? How would I know whose Birthday it is?

Cheryl, it sounds like a good option, I don't have time at this moment to explain how to find the birthdays.
I will try to explain later.
Happy New Year!!!

Ok, is it based on the list on the bottom right of the home page? If so it appears most people are like me and did not initially add their B-day. I will do some days of the week.

Cheryl, I will try to explain how I do it.
At the top of the home page there is a row of navigation tabs for forums, database etc.

Below that row there is a smaller row with a tab called Extras and others. Click on extras and it takes you a page where you can find birthdays among other things, click on birthdays and select the month.

Then scroll down the list and you will find the subscribers highlighted, click on the highlighted names one by one and go to their home page to see if they are from Texas and which city they are from. Copy or write it down if they are, and when you have the whole list which is very long, then you post them on the Texas forum with the greeting.

I think it would be a big job to do the month all at once but the week might be doable.
Let me know what you think.
Josephine.

Ok, that is a lot of names. I can do 2 days a week but with my schedule no more than that.

Cheryl, just a comment on the position of the birthdays on your home page. You can change the way things show up....my birthday list is at the top. Probably under preferences, but don't remember now.

My daily list is at the top also, and you can select it under preferences on your home page.
Then there is the thing about the daily list not showing up until 7.30 a.m. which was the reason it made it difficult for me the days i had to leave early.

Well, it looks like only Cheryl is interested.
I forgot to mention that posting pictures of native plants is not necessary, you can post a picture of your favorite flower, or a cake or no picture at all, so maybe that would less daunting.
Anyway I thought I would mention that, in case the pictures were a stumbling block.
Josephine.
