Question: Harvested turnips, now there growing tops

I harvested my turnips a couple of weeks ago. I have them in a dark wooden box, in a single layer, in my laundry room. It stays pretty cool in there. I just checked them and there now growing tops again. I wanted to keep them to use them this winter to eat. Do I need to cut the tops off of them again?
