Kitty with blockage...

(Zone 7a)

Okay, here's the deal. Our Kitty Isis is almost 12 years old. Last June, she had a keloidal fibrosarcoma the size of a golfball removed from her abdominal wall. In Nov., she had 2 more, slightly smaller, that were stuck together removed. Last weekend, we noticed she wasn't acting like her normal Alpha Cat self. She didn't wake me up at 4am to be fed, she kept to herself more than usual and gave in and rolled over when Kitty Cleo moved in aggressively.

This progressively got worse until my DH noticed a lump in her side below her ribs. Over the next day or two, we noticed it moved and got bigger. Isis stopped eating almost entirely and had small amounts of diarrhea leaking. She tried to poop and just strained with no results. On Sat., we took her to the vet and had her x-rayed and they found her lower intestine blocked. No foreign objects were seen. All her other organs appeared normal. They tested her blood and everything looked normal there, too. They kept her most of the day and gave her 3 enemas which got about 1/3 of the feces out.

We brought her home Sat. afternoon to continue with therapy. She had 2 incidents of pooping Sat. night but nothing since. Once in the bathroom and once under the Christmas tree. Both were quite soft. She doesn't try for the box and we have since moved it closer to where she is sleeping but not too close. She has been put on Buprenorphine for arthritis pain in her lower back and 1/4 of a Zantac to get the bowel to move.

Isis hasn't eaten anything but tiny bits of tuna in the juice from the can since Sat. morning. She Isn't interested in any food we present to her...tuna in oil, turkey, dry food, canned food, butter... She drank all the water from the tuna can. She is drinking water. She doesn't move from her bed unless it's to go outside to sit in the sun.

I have some questions...

What can we try to feed her to get some of her strength back? She isn't even trying to go the potty.
Should we even try to feed her?
It has been suggested by the vet's office that she MAY have had a stroke-like episode in her intestines and her nerves aren't functioning correctly. What is the possibility of that occurring? I can't find any info on the internet.
Could this have resulted from her surgery?
We don't want to lose her but we can't afford the $3000 for a bowel resection. What else can we try to help her?

Anything you all think might help will be most welcome. We're at a lose as to what to do next. We do have an appt. to let the vet know how she's doing on Fri.
