Howdy!
Well, my daughter got some cash for christmas this year, and her father let her use it to get two guinea pigs.
I have no idea what 'type' they are, or how old (all I know is they're HUGE) they are.
But daughter told me that they need to eat parsley for vitamin C (something confirmed by wikipedia), then proceeded to go out into MY garden and try and hack up one of my parsley plants. I gave her a few sprigs for now and told her to just be patient.
during my reading on about.com, the site read that they also eat greens (like a rabbit), but wanted to know what specifically, how much to give, etc. so we don't accidentally kill them. :)
also - is the guinea pig poop good for the garden, or should I just put it in the compost?
I read that you could put the aspen shredded bedding in the compost, but didn't know about the poop (though don't know how one would really separate the two).
thanks.
