CLOSED: Celosia Spicata... Purple flowers

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

I have an enormous amount of Celosia Spicata seed to share for postage if any one is interested..
Just send a (one) dollar to cover postage and packaging cost and you will get a healthy portion of seed.
I love them because they attract the butterflies like mad, I have been collecting seed all year and have more than enough to send to allot of people.
It's not full of garbage I am pretty good about keeping it clean and dry.
Don't bother with dmail if you want any just send the buck to

Alday
I'm off to go pack up our envy...yea
If you all didn't want these they were going in the dustbin...so I am glad to have ya'll who want them, already 6 people who took advantage of this...whoohoo!! All I need now is another 600 people to get rid of the seed at about 500 seeds each packet...LOL
Don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon...but those who want them are welcome to them.

brainerd, MN(Zone 4a)

Oh my!
I got mine! Thank you again!

Webster, FL

Please do not throw away the seeds yet. My envy is on the way. Thanks.

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Alday...yours went out today...ENJOY!!

Everett, WA(Zone 8a)

Floridaheat,

Are these the same as
Wheatstraw Celosia - Celosia argentea - var. spicata?

Either you or Maithyme sent a bag of the above to the New Bee Stash, and I lost the name of who sent it.

Does this sound right?

Amethyst Purple blooms attract butterflies
Annual full sun
18-36" tall
12-15" apart
reseeds freely
direct sow in Fall or after last Spring frost

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Yes Corey, it is the same I was sure I marked them when I sent them...maybe not...don't remember

Everett, WA(Zone 8a)

I know for sure it had Wheatstraw & Celosia
and,I think : spicata

That bag didn't have your name on it.

Thanks again for the seeds! They are going to divide up into quite a few individual packets.

Corey

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Corey that was for you and for the "newbee" trade I was sure I was suppose to have participated in back in September I sent those to you with the salvia and all the ace hardware envys.
Cheers, Patti

Center, TX

Hey Pat, got your seeds today. Thanks in advance. alday

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Alday your welcome!!

Nyssa, OR(Zone 6a)

Thanks for sending...I live on a dairy in Oregon...hence the play on words with ordinary girl at first glance but actually is OR dairy girl =)

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

SOooo sorry Ordairygirl...it was a glance thing:-) no insult intended...I promise!!
If you have not gotten them you will AFTER the holiday shortly :-))

Nyssa, OR(Zone 6a)

No offense at all...I didn't even see it as ordinary-girl till someone else pointed it out to me when I first started =) Its like trying to decipher vanity license plates on here. Thanks so much for sending the seeds, no rush...these have to wait till late Spring for me.

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Your right like vanity plates:))) Never thought of it that way, your right!
I know some have to wait till spring for planting, but if I don't get them out as fast as I get the request well then you know what can happen, so I take it quite serious when someone sends a request and it includes $ and they have trusted me to send out as promised. I get my mail quite early at the Post Office box and the mailman picks up late at the house, so I have a few hours to get my act together and get it out that day so there is no guilt on my part...Hooray

Unlike another where I have waited months to get stuff...but I guess I should just give up on that, just know I have been taken for a ride, know better next time and move on, I don't want to be known as the person who "doesn't follow threw" or is considered "slow to process" I like my good trade rating want to kep it that way...have a great night!!

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

Sending an envie out your way today. Thanks for so kindly taking the time to share...

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Honeybunch_2000...your welcome, it would make me distraught to pitch them but I have sooo many.
I sent out to the "newbee" trade an entire 4X4 zip envy jam packed full about 2 months ago and I have that much still or more might as well share...there so easy to start! Scratch some dirt 1-2 inches down and toss, water a bit and wait...that's all there is to it and they bloom starting in 6 weeks after they come up...can't get much easier than that!!

Selinsgrove, PA(Zone 5b)

I planted these for the first time last year. I love them and will continue to grow them. This photo was taken when they were just starting to flower.

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Alday...you posted on the 13th you got them...so yea.
You'll find them there somewhere buried on your desk, under a list of plants you intend to look up, printed lists of trades and stuff you printed for later referance.
Well, that's what my desk looks like anyway...LOL

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Debi4...I still have plenty :-)

WOW...I just noticed we can post up to 5 photos?
When did tht happen? Niiice :-))

Center, TX

Pat, I did get your seeds and thanks. But did I send your postage and if not how much. Alda

Titusville, FL(Zone 9b)

Oh yes...you must have or I would not have had your address.
I never got an empty envy, I did get one that wanted to trade seeds of unknown origin that were in the envy.
That was interesting, I still don't know who that was, all it had on it was an address and some unknown seeds included.
So those are in a pot and the seed (trade) went out...
It's all good..((HUGS)) Patti

Vashon, WA(Zone 8a)
