Of the 20 Schlumbergera seedlings that I started in 2010, I now have nine that are going to bloom this year. I have been told that it's nearly impossible to get bloom in one year from seed. I am glad I didn't know that because it was always my expectation that at least SOME of them would bloom the first year. :-)
I have pictures of the ones that have bloomed so far here. I will put up more as they bloom.

Schlumbergera Seedlings
Indashade,
What kind of soil mix do you like?
I followed the directions some folks gave me and I think there was way too much peat moss.
Sonny
I start the seeds in a standard Promix seed starting mixture, but when I prick them out into a larger pot, I plant them in Miracle Gro Organic Potting mix. I amend the potting mix with vermiculite and perlite to open it up a bit.
