My boys want to go noodlin'. I have googled but every site I found is booked indefinatly :( Anyone know where I can take them to do this this summer?

Noodling is grappling for catfish by mouth with your hands under the edges of riverbanks. Texas Parks & Wildlife recently made it legal and set a season for it.
The adrenaline rush is the chance of grabbing and ending up with a snake IMO. The bite of some large cats will smart also.
But as my father in law used to say... to each their own.
Very unusual indeed, I will leave that sport to the fearless.

I guess you could call it a sport ,but I bees thinking that anytime you place your hand into the mouth of a 50lb. carnivore it is insanity...

How strange. DH's cousin just posted that he and his wife want to go to Oklahoma and go "noodlin". He is 63 and she is 60. They are big hunters and live in the mountains of Colorado. Go figure.

Now I did not see him at the party but his Mom said she would get me his PH. # she and her DH have a cabin way back in the mountains and they were going to head back up there today but I can get his number on my own and will see what he has to say...Looks to me like one of the requirements is to be a good swimmer..as at times the hidey holes are pretty far under the water..F.Y.I. Here in Oklahoma the only legal cat for noodlin is the Flathead...

Do catfish have teeth? I always thought they just sucked up much from the bottom.
A catfish has very sharp fins and do serious damage. Most people won't even remove the hook without a pair of pliers.
