Saturday I attended a book signing at the Talihina Public Library the book is called Westward Ho written and compiled by Lois Hugle Edington ..It is mostly a large note book about the history of the Overland Mail and delves into the beginnings of the Overland Mail and it first route thru Indian Ter. and into Texas,lots of mentions of places in Texas that I reconize from dave's garden members ..Kinda Interesting to read some history from a first hand account as she uses lots of the writings of George Ormsby the first ever passenger on the historic journey...I need to look into George Ormsby as there are lots of places named after him so that is likely an interesting story in itself Some of the Texas places mentioned were Sherman ,Gainsville,Fort Belknap,Chadbourne and the staked plains...

Sounds interesting, grits. I'll check out the Wikipedia info this afternoon as things are verrrrry slow here at work so far today. Might as well learn a little something about my adopted state. And I love history....
