It's leaves are a chocolate brown color, and they have a basil scent and flavor. I thought Chocolate Basil didn't exist, but if it does, this might be it. Thank you, for any information you may have, to help me ID this herb.

Could be African Blue, which doesn't reseed, even though it blooms.
I'll have to get both kinds, then I'll find out, which one it is.
