RIP Norma

Norman, OK

Received word today that the leucistic redtail that lived in South Norman, OK is no more. She often perched on high voltage power poles near a substation and was electrocuted this morning. Guess she touched a wire and a pole at the same time.

Norma was first reported by local birders in 2004 and has been seen by the regulars on South Jenkins several times weekly since. Funny how so many have become attached to her and are saddened by her death. She was one of the most beautiful and fascinating birds I've had the pleasure of watching. She will be missed.
