Hot crab dip was soooo fishy!

Our daughter brought ingred. $$ for a hot crab dip she found on-line @ a popular recipe site. She said it had lots of positive reviews. We tasted it prior to going into the oven and it was great. However, after cooking we tasted it and it was extremely strong fishy tasting. I can not believe this is the taste that received lots of great positive reviews. Is this your experience w/ hot crab dip?
