Not sure what herb this is can someone help me with this or should I go to the id section?

If it smells like anise/licorice, it's most likely one of tha tarragons.

Hemet, CA(Zone 9b)

It's some type of marigold. Check out the plant files for Mexican Marigold or other types of marigolds.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I agree, if the foliage has the licorice smell it would be most likely an herb.

In Texas, the Mexican marigold mint is commonly called Texas tarragon.
This bloom doesn't appear the same as the one I grew this summer but I'd bet related.
