With Busters Passing and our need to be a 2 dog household, we might have jumped the gun a little by introducing Sassy into our home just after Busters death. Sassy is a Wire Fox Terrier mix and Hunter is a Westie/Schnauzer. Sassy is wild and Sassy and Hunter is dominate, but passive. he tries to ignore her but when she insists, then the teeth come out, the sneezing and deep growling start.
We let it go until we are uncomfortable and I do my best to play the Pack Leader role and actually get down on all fours and take control as a larger dog would.
They seem to be responding. I always come first and I treat them as equals and let nature take its course between them.. or.. am I missing something important?
