Cast iron sinks, do they stain?

springfield area, MO(Zone 5b)

I would like to put in a white cast iron sink, but I am scared of them :)
I have 3 kids and we really abuse our whole kitchen, but especially the sink. There is no dishwasher, and I cook alot with cast iron. I am worried about chipping, staining (like berries or coffee) and also about grazing/crackling of the finish. Can I pour hot water, say draining pasta or steamed vegetables directly into the sink? I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of cast iron?
I seen a white sink that was acrylic, I don't know anything about those either, are they any good? I do know they make a touch up kit for cast iron sinks, has anyone used that before?

Thanks!
