my mom has this crazy tree, she bought three years ago the first year it produced two juicy lemons, then nothing,
then this year they are big and lots of new ones coming out to, but they wont turn yellow,and when you scratch the rind it smells like lime.
i have three pictures, being curious to see what is going on she cut one open only to find that the actual fruit is the size of a quarter, she lives on the coast the tree gets sun all day she said she has never given it vitamins or fertilized it.
help with lemon tree
I know CA has citrus greening virus, not sure if it's in your area. I recommend you call the local ag extension office, because if it is cgv, the tree will have to be destroyed.
Doesn't look like citrus greening to me. Was this a grafted tree or one started from seed?? It could just be a hybrid that has characteristics that are undesireable. At least the meat of the fruit is bullit proof with that heavy rind. Don

no she bought it from a nursery
its just the strangest thing I've seen,
i have a Meyer that just produces all year long
never had any issue with mine.
