Guess it's my turn...

Longview, TX

Well hi everybody. I have been so busy looking at all the great forums I have procrastinated on introducing myself. Actually I didn't know I was supposed to until it was unfashionably late anyway.
Let's see...I'm "Kelly", for real...haha. I am a crazed gardener. I guess I'm considered a collector, and a landscaper. I am a native Texan. Im also a Navy veteran. Im 41 years old. I have two kids. Im on long term disability. (arrhythmia heart condition) I love trading seeds. Im a master gardener, native plant society member, national home gardening club member, Dave's member thanks to my angel...
I am also a Christian, pet lover, ham radio operator, and I love photography. (Im a mere amatuer) I love art and music. I'm a Cub Scout co-leader. I am starting a youth garden project at my church. I am also starting to teach a jr. master gardener class. Needless to say I stay BUSY.
I love Dave's Garden. I was too busy during the growing season to check it out fully. But now that I've looked, I'm hooked....lol...hey, I rhymed. Bye for now!

Wow..what a great, warm welcome. You all live in such cool states. Thanks so much. I hope to be trading with you, and making friends. I believe this gardening thing gets in your blood.....LOL. I inherited it anyhow. My mom had it, her mom, her aunt, her grandma....and you can guess it goes on from there... My children also seem interested. My daughter is ten. My son is eight. They are proud of "our yard".
My mom was into houseplants mostly. My Aunt Grace was into EVERYTHING with plants. She was cool because she could name all this stuff we had never heard of. She used to send off for stuff they never carried around here. I guess I am kinda like her...a collector. I love the unusual stuff. But, I also like the old standbys. I am into many facets of gardening. My mom told my aunt that I'm "worse than Aunt Grace"!!!! Now that is scary...and probably true. Aunt Grace didnt have the net though. Lord help us if she had ......hahaha........take care and thanks again y'all......hehehe.

Welcome from me, too! I would hate to see what your list would look like if you weren't "disabled". They say if you want something done, ask a busy person, and I agree. Did my time as cub scout den mother, girl scout leader, Sunday School teacher, years ago, and I still look back on all of it with fond memories and a feeling of awe. Was that really me, with the seven kids, two with chronic illnesses? But your list puts me to shame! I think DG is fortunate to have you aboard.

Welcome Kelly333 from the Sunflower State' See ya 'round the garden and looking forward to your posts' Sis'

Hi eveyone
Like Kelly I too am new to the site. I have had it a couple of weeks but have been enjoying it fully. I am a friend of Roadrunner in Az of many years. I live in Florida and moved from Va Beach. I have two children a son 27 and daughter 31. Just got back from my daughters wedding in Va. Beach.
I have a acre of land here and never had this much before so I have plenty of room to plant which I dearly love. I never had time for much planting before because when my children were home I was taking them to ball practice, 4-H meetings, and working myself.
I started out here with just a large garden in the circle drive out front that we made from the pine straw falling from the trees. So instead of a concrete or asphalt drive we have pine straw down. I am out growing my garden in the circle drive so am going to have to expand to the back and along the side of the house.
I am looking forward to trading seeds with everyone but havent done much seed planting myself, mostly from cuttings. Have problems getting plants to grow from seeds. Have been going back and forth a lot these past couple of years to see the children so really need to stay home some so I can plant from seeds. Need to learn the proper way to save the seeds and when to plant them. I collected a few this morning from the four oclocks and couple of other things that I do not know what they are. LOL Anyway nice to meet everyone.

Aimee you too were very busy! I like leisure time in my garden. It seems to be harder to do. So it isnt too good to stay TOO busy. But, I wont watch tv all day...not my style. (I rarely watch tv) I forgot to mention Im active in church too....ROTFL. I do our website..which is so easy cause I use ourchurch.com which is so easy you dont need to learn html for it. Im in charge of greeters, and calling all newcomers. Im also in a great bible study which is non-denominational. It is called Bible Study Fellowship. (BSF) There are classes all over the world just about. I have learned more from this study than any other. So if you have one near you...try it out. Im in my third year of BSF. My favorite church activity will of course be the GARDEN........hehehe..oh I just cannot WAIT.
