I would love to find one of these. Any ideas? Plant files lists them hardy to zone 9 but posts say they are growing in zone 8. I haven't seen these in the wild but did find some expensive ones for sale on ebay.

Cheryl, I have a small vine but no seeds, in the spring I can give you a new start. They are hardy here.

Does yours have the expanded root/caudex? I would love a start in the spring.

I really don't know Cheryl, I have never dug it up. It is a small and delicate vine.
I will get you some then.
Josephine.
I have had one for the past few years, and it has gotten flowers on it but no gourds. It was bigger than ever this year, so I have some hopes that next year will be the year! I can see the top of the caudex if I pull back the mulch around it.
Can I ask where you got it from Dennis?
Josephine. :)
Boy oh boy, my plants do get around, don't they?
Josephine.
LOL
