Can anyone identify this caterpillar? It reminds me of a puppy dog with a coat on.

Beautiful photos of your cat. I have seen them 3 times in my garden in the 20 some odd years I have lived in Tn. They are very interesting and not seen very often. The second time I saw them was after I slapped myself in the back of the leg with one while removing some cut foliage 2 of them were munching on. Boy do they pack a wallop. Kind of like a bad wasp sting. There is another caterpillar that is venomous around here but I have never seen that one. I think it is called the Hag moth.
Thank you, although photos are actually a bit fuzzy ... need to learn the camera better. I was very surprised when I saw the caterpillar, the way it looked. And I'm surprised I didn't touch it as I have that habit of wanting to touch things to see how they feel. (lol)
