My neighbors are Italian and we share our vegetables with them. They have asked me to grow some Italian hot cherry peppers next year.
Can someone point me in the right direction for obtaining seed?
Thanks.

I know - it's an amazing catalog of offerings, especially for it's breadth of coverage. Five varieties of arugula, eight varieties of rapa greens, a zucchini variety grown specifically for it's edible flowers!
Sixteen varieties of Chicory!

If you like that one try; http://www.gourmetseed.com/ or http://www.italianseedandtool.com/?gclid=CLml8abDiawCFct-5Qod5irNpA or http://www.lakevalleyseed.com/Pagano_Seeds_s/100.htm. These companies represent three major Italian seed companies. In order Franchi Semini, Bavicchi , and Pagano
My goodness, so many links, so little time to view them all. :)
Let me know if this strikes their fancy, I bought a big pack from hazzards and have lots.
It's a "leaf broccoli", you eat the young leaves and tips, though the old leaves aren;t bad, just stronger-flavored and tougher when raw.
Spigariello Liscia / Broccolo Spigariello / Brassica oleracea var. 'Spigariello'
Italian Heirloom, O.P., 45-65 days, Full Sun Annual
12" - 24" tall , 16"- 24" spacing
deep blue-green leaves & tops: sweet, mild broccoli / kale flavor
Strip off center rib. Cooked leaves freeze well
Direct-sow very early spring ⅛" deep, or indoors in peat pellets for TX after above 25 º
Once established, OK above 25º.
TX late Feb-Mar or in cloches Jan-Feb.
seed from Hazzards 2011
Floating row covers prevent worms.

Thanks, Corey. I don't think I'd have the room to grow broccoli greens for my neighbors, and hubby and I are not keen on "greens" - although we both like broccoli. With the hot peppers, I plan to start them off under lights in my garden room, and then have my neighbors grow them in pots on their own deck. This way they should be far enough away that they won't cross with my sweet peppers.

Smart! I was thinking along those lines too, becuase my next-door neighbor gets all the sun. However, the new people are gardeners and have plans of their own!

The one review of "Red Cherry" said none of the peppers grown from any of the plants of this variety had much heat at all. "Topepo Rosso" is a sweet cherry, according to the description. The "Baccio de Satana" is described as a "very, very hot" pepper (the name means "Kiss of Satan" - that's a hint). The Calibrese is the one I recommended earlier, a hot but not scorching variety
I can personally vouch for the quality of their seed; at least, the varieties I've ordered from them. They were very well packed, arrived in excellent condition and had a very high percentage of germination.
