seeds

Arlington, TX

A couple questions about native seeds.
1. Good sources online
2. Aphanostephus riddellii or perennial lazy daisy, does anyone have seeds of this plant?
3. Quincula lobata or purple ground cherry, anyone have seeds of this one?

I can't find either one on any seed lists.

What I did for something I was looking for was dmailed the DGers who had posted pictures of what I wanted (when no one had any for trade), They did not have any but both were nice enough to dmail me back and let me know. You might try that and luck out. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck!

I put an add up on the seed exchange and the southwest gardening forums and today I received in the mail what might be purple groundcherry seeds. A wonderful woman in CO collecte them and sent them to me. I have a few and would like some advice about the best methods to ensure getting a few germinated. They are perennials and native to a fairly wide range of climates, any suggestions?

Also, does anyone have seeds of the following:
Leucophyllum, cassia/senna (bush?), other drought tolerent plants that might tolerate colder than zone 7 temps?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I have seeds for this one http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1328/ and I highly recommend finding seeds for a Cassia Alta. Although it says Zone 8 I know someone in 7b who is trying to grow it as a house plant. I have one of them that come up from seed this year and has really grown and I rarely watered it. My seeds are still green and I don't know how long before they will be ready.

Congratulations on the ground cherry seeds, I hope they do great for you.

Actually Josephine I thought we might team up on them. You try some I try some and hopefully we might get a couple plants. I think, based on what I have read they might not be too difficult. I am thinking some for winter sowing and some saved until spring. Can I mail you some?

Well now its a selfish reason too. I thought there would be a greater chance of success with two people. I have your address in an email, so I will mail them. I do need to say once again I am not 100% sure of the ID but the seeds and husks look right. There is enough to share and hopefully one or both of us with get plants.

O.K. I am looking forward to it, thank you very much.
