Two years ago I was given a start of chocolate mint as an experiment for a student's project. They wanted to see if they would survive mailing and prosper, needless to say they did. I am offering 3 cuttings for 2 forever stamps and an address label. I'll provide the envelope. They will go to the first twenty people who respond to the offer. My addy is in the exchange.
Number three is taken. Seventeen left.

CLOSED: Chocolate Mint
I'll have the postage stamps and label in the mail tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing!
Dawn
The 8th of October I took a few cuttings to see how long it would take to root. My intention was to photograph them, but i forgot, just stuck them in some water. Checked them today and they have roots 1/2 inch long. Easy.
This is beautiful, if I can figure out how to get your addy I want it!!!
Sending you my envie today, Mittsy - thanks so much for your kind offer. :)
Got your envie and label, Dawn. It's in the mail.
Got your request today Amanda. Yours will go out on Monday morning.
I re-read the first post Mittsy - how did you/do you start the cuttings? Is the experiment to see whether they survive simple mailing?
My cutting prospered and produced a large tub full of Chocolate Mint. It wintered over in the pot last year and it will winter over in the pot again this winter. I just wanted to offer cuttings to anyone who would like to get a plant started. If you put the cuttings in water and change the water daily, you should get roots in 4 or 5 days. Continue to grow roots and then pot up in soil. You can then put it in the ground or leave it in the pot outside. it will begin to grow again in the spring. It makes a lovely edible garnish for desserts or hot tea or iced tea, lemonade, etc.
This mixed pot contains lavender, tall phlox, and choc mint.
Thanks Mittsy. :)
I love the smell, and I can't wait to have some inside overwinter.

Yours was mailed out this morning. Asked that it be hand cancelled. We had a family Harvest Pot Luck yesterday and garnished a lot of the dishes with different mints and chives. Such a nice fresh flavor. I had shared my apple mint earlier in the early summer, and was happy to see that it was garnishing a lot of dishes. Guess it multiplied enough that they all felt it was ok to start trimming. I dry most of mine for herbal tea mixtures.
