2 Ebay sellers comparison

Houston, PA(Zone 6a)

I have recently bought cuttings from 2 sellers on ebay and would like to pass on my experience.

Kinda skimpy and not packaged very well. They are in a water tube but the leaves and stem are just open to the air so they arrived wilted, they drank the water tube dry. The penduliflora was totally dead, but was replaced and she added 2 other cuttings as an apology. Again with poor packaging. And 2 of them died within a day.

Got plants and cuttings from him. Both were fantastic! Very full and healthy. The cuttings were in tubes and also in plastic bags to hold the moisture, and the bags were chock full! He also has a great selection. I got cuttings of atropos, janus, tulae, twin star, inspiration, sunburst, holosericia, citrina, adularia, and panda. And plants of white crown, sanguinolenta, belotti, lady margaret, miniata, pura vita, constance elliott. I am watching this guy, great seller! I might have extra cuttings if anyone wants to trade. I'll post later what I have left.

That's great information! I've ordered plants from passiflorista twice, and have have been quite satisfied with both orders.

I was so happy to see this thread. I bought a bunch of plants and cuttings from thomashawk on ebay last night. I've grown these from seed and separated some of my plants but have never tried cuttings so emailed first with questions. He is very quick to reply and quite helpful so reading good things about his cuttings and shipping is wonderful...can't wait!

Try eBay user Passiflorista

I have purchased rooted cuttings and seeds from him several times over the past few years. Always shipped fast and well packed! With such great service, it's been hard for me to venture out and try buying from anywhere else.

Thanks for the info, I've been watching his stuff!

Incidentally, regarding Passiflorista, he said he'll have more varieties for sale around mid-March. I suppose, like everyone else, he's winding down for the year. I had inquired about availability of "Crimson Tears" because I killed off both plants I purchased earlier this year.

My latest purchase from Passiflorista was Passiflora serrato-digitata x seemanii and Passiflora "Raspberry Strudel." Both were super nice cuttings, well rooted, and doing just fine so far.

Thanks to everyone for sharing info on sellers.

Roxanne...if you have any extra's of P. Sunburst, I would love to trade with you. I think that is the only cutting I have that isn't going to make it.

This is great info. Thanks for posting this thread. How are most of you all rooting your cuttings.? Especially this time of year. Thanks,

I rooted mine under lights and domed in ground long-fibered sphagnum moss...the stuff used for orchids.

I have found P. Sunburst to be the hardest of any Passi I have ever had to root. In the greenhouse/under lights it's just plain stubborn ! I'm going with another approach, and unwinding one of the longer stems and layering it right in the pot with momma...
Good thing it's got such interesting foliage and flower, cause it would be outta here otherwise !

That sounds like a great idea!
