Someone lamented that this forum does not see much chatter.
I thought that this would be a good time to start a thread that identifies and highlights the seasonality of flowering natives to maintain color and interest in the garden year round.
If you post a plant for fall, could you post a photo of the plant as well?

The attached photo is of S. rugosa 'Fireworks' which has become one of my very favorite late summer/fall bloomers.

Wish I could help, but I'm unfamiliar with the plants native to your area. That aster looks beautiful. I have one aster native to the Pineywoods that comes back every year in the middle of a patch of wax myrtle. Of course the bushes hide it, so I have to hunt it out to see whether it's blooming. When it does, the flowers are very pale, almost grey - not a great asset to the landscape!
Those look like New England asters, and we get them as far south as northern Kentucky.
