CLOSED: Flycatcher 9/23/2011 Bosque County, TX by stock tank

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

This flycatcher was very friendly, and joined me as I was fishing a stock tank in Bosque County, TX, west of Waco. It would sit on a tree limb that was on the ground and catch bugs and fly back. Occassionally it would sit a little higher up in a Cypress tree that was also nearby. I'll post 4 pictures from all angles. Hopefully, they will be enough to get an ID.

Maybe Eastern Wood Pewee?

But, I am not very good at bird ID, so wait for the experts.

One of the Empidonax flycatchers - too strong a white eye ring for Eastern Wood Pewee, and (if I'm judging size right) too small for that too.

As to which . . . pass!

Thanks for looking at the pics, Patti and Res. I do agree that the eye-ring is too prominant for Eastern Wood. Peewee.
