Is that pollen sacs to the right on the flower?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I don't think so. I want to say that the above picture shows the most any flower has ever opened since I started growing this plant 5-6 years ago. Out of curiosity, I inspected the plant carefully today and no seed sacks anywhere. It is supposed to be sterile and I believe that to be correct.

Foliage is truly beautiful but those unopened buds really take away from the plant. I wish it weren't planted in such a prominent part of my garden. People walk to it all excited and once they look at the blooms, they go: "oh..."

I peeled away the petals of mine and found no reproductive parts, just petals.

I have been cruising thru hibiscus forum and fell in love with your Japanese ROS. if you ever sell cuttings, rooted or otherwise, I would be veriy interested in obtaining one from you. I have never seen anything like it!

Which cultivar are you talking about? We're they the white and pink flower or white and purple flower?

I don't have the other, I saw it at a garden center but never had the chance to buy it and I can't find it online yet either. It was Murasaki tama.
